Child Policy

Children at the heart of our work: our policy on child welfare and protection

Our commitment

Fairness in relationships and absolute respect for children are at the heart of our guiding principles. PuntoSud, together with all its members (board members, employees and collaborators), takes responsibility for ensuring a safe environment for every child and young person, regardless of their background, and for everyone involved in our programmes.

Our Child Policy is an integral part of an ethical framework that includes:

  • The Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief (adopted in 2008).
  • The Code of Ethics (2019).
  • The Gender Equality Policy (2024).
  • The Policy on Generative AI (2025).

Reporting Form

PuntoSud provides a safe space to report behaviour or situations that are inconsistent with the principles of fairness and child protection.

Reports can be submitted anonymously or by name, depending on the user’s preference. All communications will be handled with the utmost confidentiality by the Steering Committee, in full compliance with the procedures set out in our policy and current privacy regulations.

For a culture of prevention and the promotion of rights

Our commitment is inspired by the core principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which we translate into concrete actions:

  • Best interests of the child: every decision or action that may affect children prioritises their physical and mental well-being.
  • Non-discrimination: we are committed to protecting every child without distinction as to ethnicity, gender, language, religion, opinion or socio-cultural background.
  • Zero Tolerance: PuntoSud does not tolerate any form of abuse, exploitation or neglect, whether physical, sexual, psychological or digital.
  • Participation and Listening: we promote children’s right to be heard, informed about their rights and involved in the processes that affect them.
