Training for international cooperation
Enhancing skills, managing change.
In a world that is constantly evolving, both organizationally and professionally, qualified and continuously trained practitioners are essential to effectively address the challenges of international cooperation, social development, and humanitarian aid.
Since the very beginning of PuntoSud, we have been asked to provide training on the areas where we had the strongest expertise: funding management, project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
Over the years, these activities led to the creation of the PuntoSud Academy, the PuntoSud hub dedicated to skills development and organizational strengthening for practitioners engaged in international cooperation, social development, and humanitarian aid.
Since 2008, we have been an official partner of the European Commission for training and support to all DG ECHO staff and its partners.
We have delivered courses and provided technical assistance in over 60 countries. Our strength lies in combining technical expertise with hands-on experience in project management. We understand operational challenges, procedures, and contractual rules, and we know how to translate theory into practical tools.
What does it really mean to train those who work in cooperation?
Our courses are not based on abstract theories, but on direct experience in project management, within the rules and constraints of donors, but also in the real complexities of operational contexts.
We have first-hand knowledge of procedures, deadlines, contracts and critical issues, because we have been through them ourselves. This allows us to build training courses that respond to concrete problems with practical solutions.
Thanks to our ongoing collaboration with the European Commission and other international actors, we keep our content up to date and aligned with the latest standards. Above all, we translate theory into working tools: methodologies, real cases, simulations, checklists. Material that participants can actually use the very next day.
What we offer
We develop technical training programmes that address the real issues of project design, financial management and monitoring, both through face-to-face and online courses.
We support organisations throughout the project cycle, offering ongoing technical assistance: operational support, problem solving, support in day-to-day management and compliance with donor rules.
We design tailor-made consultancy services and provide practical tools and resources to strengthen internal skills in a concrete and lasting way.

As part of the Cooperation Facility for the EU Delegation and Civil Society in Yemen 2022, PuntoSud developed and implemented a comprehensive training programme on EU procedures and European grant management, aimed at Yemeni experts, civil society organisations and United Nations agencies.
