Long experienced in humanitarian aid and post emergency activities, he has worked since 1987 in Central and sub-Saharan Africa and since 1997 as Chief of the Emergency Office of an Italian NGO, coordinating the humanitarian Actions financed by DG ECHO, UNHCR, UNICEF and other donors in Africa, Middle East and Southern Asia.
He has been particularly engaged during the last years in an in-depth study for the development and application of the FPA procedures, intending to facilitate the application of the DG ECHO procedures and better the quality of humanitarian projects.
As consultant for punto.sud he is now mainly engaged in providing training and organisational and managerial support to the NGOs and international agencies working with DG ECHO and in coordinating the helpdesk activities both for DG ECHO and the Italian Civil Protection.
He is part of the DG ECHO Helpdesk since 2005.
