« Building partnerships and bridging for Humanitarian Aid, Development and Migration »
punto.sud is a non-profit organisation working worldwide in the field of humanitarian aid, international development cooperation and migration.
Its main objectives are to contribute to strengthening and improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable populations in the world as well as those who have immigrated to Europe and to open new opportunities to widen people’s choices.
punto.sud was established in Milan, Italy, in 1999 by a group of professional consultants with broad experience in project preparation, management and evaluation, as well as in training of humanitarian aid workers.
punto.sud acts as a bridge between donor and international agencies, non-governmental and non-profit organisations, research centres and university departments, the public administration, and corporations. Within this framework our activity is developed along two interdependent tracks: implementing projects and delivering specific services.
In the first case, we include activities finalised to guarantee establishment and enhancement of partnership and networks, implementation of projects, management of framework contracts and development of researches and guidelines. In the second case, punto.sud responds directly to specific demands carried out mainly by international donor agencies, non-governmental and civil society organisations in monitoring and evaluation, capacity development and training, technical assistance and helpdesk support.
In the first 15 years of activity punto.sud has worked with different partners, both private and public institutions/organisations, in four continents (Asia, Africa, Central and South America, Europe), and more than 50 countries.
punto.sud has also developed a relevant number of training modules which have been delivered all over the world for the benefit of around 4.000 humanitarian aid workers. A particularly relevant experience is given by the long lasting cooperation with the European Commission – Humanitarian Aid & Civil Protection (DG ECHO), where punto.sud is the official partner that provides training and support services on behalf of the European Commission for all DG ECHO partners and DG ECHO staff.
