The EuropeAid LogFrame

Course Description

All those involved in designing interventions for Development Cooperation today need to know how to formulate and manage the Logical Framework, which is used in all project phases, from formulation to implementation, to monitoring and evaluation.

In recent years, the EU agencies started a project of integration of the logical framework methodology with the Theory of Change approach, a methodology already implemented by other agencies. This development leads to the fact that, since 15 July 2015, there is a new version of logical framework template, requested in most of the EuropeAid calls for proposals.  This new approach is not yet so well-known among operators of development which may find some difficulties in the preparation of the logical framework and may risk to miss opportunities of funding.

Specific Objective

To ensure an in-depth knowledge of the EuropeAid Logical Framework in order to formulate successful application forms.

Learning objectives

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Know the new EuropeAid logframe format (2015) main specificities
  • Understand the differences with the old logframe format in the framework of recent trends in action design (e.g. outcome based approach)
  • Prepare the logframe following a step-by-step guide

Methodology: how to participate?

The course is delivered on-line, in a virtual classroom. All what you need to participate is a computer and Internet connection. Each session is facilitated by one or more trainers who will share information, suggestions and best practices with participants, with the support of ppt presentations, websites presentation and other materials. During the webinar sessions, you will be able to interact with the trainers and the other participants with questions and comments.

In case you will not be available at the established time, all sessions are recorded and can be followed whenever you can.

At the end of the course, a certificate of attendance will be sent to all participants.

Course Agenda

Through this webinar, you will get an overview of this new approach which put greater emphasis on the long-term impact that the implementing organizations aim to achieve with its intervention, by identifying gradually the different desired changes and placing them in a sequence logic (result chains).

The webinar is composed by a theoretic part, where participants will get an overview of the theory of change and the logic behind this new approach and a practical part with concrete examples on how to properly formulate a successful matrix.
