PAGoDA: the new UN-EU framework of cooperation

Course Description

Are working for a UN Agency? Improve your skills in getting EU funds for your actions. Get inside the EU programming and funding system, be ready for direct negotiations with the EU delegations or the EC to get funds and be aware on the main project implementing rules. This course will give you a specific and practical overview of all aspects related to EU funding with a particular focus on the new set of rules included in the PAGoDA (Pillar Assessed Grant or Delegation Agreement).

Specific Objective

To provide the necessary information and practical instruments to ensure UN Agencies’ key staff to mobilise EU resources for their actions and ensure smooth projects implementation, according to PAGoDA rules and procedures.

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Recognize the key roles of the main EU Institutions
  • Identify and analyse EU’s key programming documents
  • Distinguish between the different EU funding modalities Implementing Partners
  • Plan direct negotiations and apply in calls for proposals
  • Interpret the PAGoDA terminology
  • Locate the key implementing rules in the PAGoDA documents
  • Analyse and properly apply the key implementing rules
  • Develop proper monitoring tools to adhere to PAGoDA rules
