The project

The project “Helpdesk platform and support to New Member States (NMS) Non State Actors/Local Authorities in the Development sector” started on January 1st 2009 and shall run for two years. It is implemented by punto.sud (Italy) as leading organization; People in Peril Association (Slovakia), Hungarian Baptist Aid (Hungary), APEL Service (Romania), FoRS - Czech Forum for Development Co-operation (Czech Republic) as implementing partners; Caritas Poland and Support to Life (Turkey) as Associates.

The project's purpose is to improve the access to information, methods and best practices on EuropeAid-grant contractual obligations of Non-State Actors and Local Authorities.

This website is a core activity of the project. To learn how to use it and navigate through it, please visit the section How to use.

In addition, a helpdesk “day-to-day” support to organizations working with EuropeAid is also available. The helpdesk services consist in the remote support by a team of professionals who will answer via e-mail all questions related to EuropeAid-funded projects. To contact the helpdesk write to helpdesk-europeaid@puntosud.org.

The project also foresees “ad hoc” screening of selected projects from proposal to the final report stage. This service, briefly called hands-on, consists in a particular method for an in-depth analysis and follow-up of a project with full involvement by organisation's/project's staff with the purpose of assessing strengths, weaknesses, and possible improvements of the project logic, but also of the managerial capacity of the implementing organisation. This activity is a pilot activity and will be carried out remotely, mainly via e-mail and phone, to the benefit of selected organisations in NMS.

The project also foresees training sessions to be delivered in Eastern Europe to the benefit of EuropeAid current and potential development partners.

Finally, the project foresees the e-publication and distribution of The Trenino, a detailed practical guide containing all the main elements of the design, management and completion of a EuropeAid-funded project.
