How to prepare a project proposal

In this section applicants will find useful indications on how to write a successful project proposal. In participation to a call for proposals (CfPs), the applicant will complete the three following annexes:

A. The Grant Application Form
B. The Budget
C. The Logframe Matrix

Other documents can be required depending on the type and amount of the Grant requested. This information will be contained in the Guidelines for Applicants. In addition to the General Conditions (Annex II of the Standard Grant Contract) and the eligibility criteria set out in the PRAG 2010, the Guidelines are an important document which defines the characteristics first of the call for proposals (CfPs) and eventually of the grants awarded.

It is in the applicant's interest to provide a well-articulated project proposal, a realistic and cost-effective budget, supporting documents and analysis, in the standard forms required by EuropeAid. To this end, it is useful to refer to the section Project Cycle Management.

Applicants must complete the Grant Application Form and the other annexes carefully and as clearly as possible so that the Contracting Authority can assess them properly. They have to be precise and provide enough detail to ensure the project proposal is clear, particularly as to how the aims of the action will be achieved, the benefits that the Action will bring and the way in which it is relevant to the programme's objectives. Particular care should be given to the description of the activities and the action plan.
